Brother Industries has announced it has formally completed the acquisition of Domino Printing Sciences plc, having met all the conditions of the offer announced on 11 March 2015.

Domino has recently launched its first digital cold foil solution based around the proven Domino K600i digital print module. The solution uses the K600i to print a digital adhesive and create the image area prior to UV-curing and delamination. Unlike some other ink jet systems that print metallic ink to provide a foil-like effect, the digital cold foil solution introduced by Domino is based on real conventional metallic foil to provide a higher quality finish and enable the use of security and decorative holographic images within the foil.

UK based Domino, a developer and manufacturer of coding and printing technologies, has confirmed that it will showcase its K630i high speed compact single-engine duplex ink jet press at drupa 2016 (Messe Düsseldorf, 31 May – 10 June, Stand No A23 in Hall 5). The company, which is an autonomous division of Brother Industries Limited, will use the exhibition to demonstrate the machine producing multi-page booklets on an integrated system in partnership with Kern AG and IBIS Bindery Systems, at speeds of up to 7,000 booklets per hour.

This year, the company won the award in the ‘Food’ category after taking the top prize in the ‘Non-food goods’ category in 2014.

First Finnish installation of Domino N610i takes place at Karico

Karico is a printing house based in Espoo, and it specialises in the production of labels and stickers. It has recently invested in a 7-colour Domino N610i digital label press as part of a new roll-to-roll production line. Integrated with stations for flexo, foiling, varnishing, laminating, die-cutting and finishing, this modular digital hybrid installation is the first of its kind in Finland.  The company plans to use this flexible and extended label production capability to gain new business in a variety of market sectors.

Domino launches N610i integration module at Labelexpo Europe 2015.

Domino N610iDomino Digital Printing Solutions has launched the N610i integration module, forming part of a digital hybrid solution, all based on its seven colour digital label press. Visitors to stand 9A60 at Labelexpo Europe 2015 saw first-hand the new N610i variant, integrated with an AB Graphics Digicon 3, including flexo, varnishing, laminating and die-cutting stations. There was daily scheduled demonstrations of this and Domino's new digital foiling solution.
